Biography

Mich started his vocal studies in the Netherlands while he was studying Dutch Civil Law. After graduating from Tilburg University in September 2003, he continued his vocal studies in private to accommodate his work as a lawyer.

In 2010 Mich attended a masterclass by Dutch Soprano Miranda van Kralingen and in the same year he reached the finals of the TV classical singing competition ‘Una Voce Particolare’ (On The Street Where You Live).

In 2015 Mich decided to move to London (UK) to broaden his horizons. His vocal development took a positive turn when Mich René connected with Patricia Rozario OBE FRCM and her teachings of Bel Canto singing at the Royal College of Music. He also met and studied with Hamish Pitceathly (www.hamishpitceathly.com), one of the last remaining pupils of Maestro Herbert-Caesari who published “The Voice of The Mind” in 1951. 

In September 2018 Mich commenced his vocal studies (Postgraduate Diploma in Music Performance) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance in Greenwich. At the time Mich  was working as a part-time legal assistant at a law firm in the City of London. Mich performed in several masterclasses at Trinity Laban, amongst which the Jette Parker Young Artists masterclass by the Royal Opera House. He graduated with distinction in the Summer of 2020 and moved back to the Netherlands due to the Covid pandemic.

In 2021 Mich participated as one of ten candidates in a tv-talentshow broadcast by Omroep Max called ARIA (www.maxvandaag.nl/aria), where he sang in the semi-finals. In 2023 Mich won first prize in the tv-programma Ranking The Talent (www.rankingthetalent.nl) broadcast by SBS6. On 28 June 2024 Mich sang in Carnegie Hall NYC.   

Since July 2022 Mich lives on Curaçao in the Dutch Caribbean.
